Here are listed competitions projects run since the 2008. In the past we have participated to several other competitions.

Modular School for Refugee Children

A Portable Building
This architecture should be built off-site and assembled on site within 7 days by No 3 labours: plumber, electrician and site manager. To speed up the assemblage, unskilled workers may be utilised. Dry assemblage allows, whether required, disassembling and relocating the building to a different site. Timber and ETFE (Ethylene Tetra Fluoro Ethylene) are the main materials utilised that give easy transport and assemblage. The ETFE is used for transparent roof and all windows. Its weight is approximately 2% of the glass. The foundation plinth is designed to fit existing soil without any digging required. Its height is adaptable to 350 millimetres.

Building module and spaces
this school is conceived with 3.7x3.7 meters basic module with internal circulation 3.7 wide and external portico half sized that gives proper shadows together with brise soleil.

Flood proof house

Flood-proof houses for the future: a compendium of design.

Norwich Union competition: with support from the RIBA

Considering an area of 1 hectare has been hypothesised a development of 40 plots divided in two different sizes: type 1 and type 2. In this contest we have also considered an hydraulic Master Plan in witch canals are arranged for an overall flooding risk reduction in this area.

Affordability Sustainability

The scheme has been designed to provide a commercial solution. For this reason materials have been chosen following also this principle and not only sustainability. The external HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) skin needs further research and development. Reasonably we may hypothesise an affordability if the overall residential development will be above an estimation of approximately 6 millions pounds (from 22 to 26 units) as in our case (it is reasonable to consider 250K).

Northwich Cultural Centre

The competition has been organised by the RIBA Competitions Office on behalf of the Northwich Regeneration Partnership, an informal partnership of eight leading public sector organisations.

The Centre will provide a focus for community activity and will be a key building that links together a number of important buildings within mid Cheshire, providing a range of public activities including galleries, performance, dance, restaurant, and tourist information. The competition promoters have aspirations for a design of the highest architectural quality that will help them deliver a coherent vision for their new building. Entrants will be expected to make the most of the attractive riverside setting located in the Baron's Quay area of Northwich Town Centre.

Brixhill shelter & kiosk

Next Wave: shelter & kiosk design competition

The competition sought designs for four seafront shelters and a kiosk. Entrants could submit in three ways as follows : a) one design type for all structures, adapted to suit the specific brief requirements for the shelters and kiosk ; b) one design for the shelters and a separate design for the kiosk ; or c) a series of designs for the shelters each being a 'variation on a theme', and a separate design for the kiosk.

Assessment Objective

The new shelters and kiosk should develop the best tradition of seaside architecture, of being timeless designs : distinctive, contemporary, innovative, fun and inspiring, as well as performing functionally and practically.
