Refurbishment and Conservation
In London refurbishment or conservation projects our intervention is on
existing building where we do internal and external remodelling or extension.
The vast majority of the followed projects are in central London where
there is an high percentage of conservation area where external intervention
is more restricted.
Consent
Together with Planning Application, in conservation areas, is necessary
to apply for consent. This sort of application comes together with Planning
Applications even if different officers take the decision.
Unfortunately conservation area consents drives a design restriction that
frequently creates technical, cost, and sustainability issues of the project.
Retrofitting
Nowadays retrofitting of existing building is the fundamental way to reduce
the carbon emission. There are different strategies that we usually suggest
in order to improve energy efficiency of the existing |

building without or with minimum internal space reduction. Every case must be taken under consideration in order to achieve the energy usage is reduced very significantly from 50% to 90%. Listed Building
Works to the interior or exterior of a listed building must be authorised
through granting listed building consent. Should be considered that it
is a criminal offence to carry out work which needs listed building consent
without obtaining it beforehand.
The listed buildings are classified as following: grade I and grade II.
If you are not sure if your property is listed you can have further information
from the English Heritage or the Secretary of state for Culture, Media
